What is Magic The Rescuing?

Story

Magic the Rescuing was started as a way to generate funds to start our non-profit animal rescue. It has turned into the way that we raise the majority of our funding. We sell mostly Magic: The Gathering products that get donated to us as well as through partnerships with Local Gaming Stores, Distributors and Private Collectors and players.

Why it's an important parallel

The gaming community finds itself in a very unique position, providing an escape from the stresses, anxiety and danger of the world and creates a safe space for people who may not have an outlet for socialization. There are many stories that say that Magic or other gaming vessels like Dungeons and Dragons have helped people to bridge that gap and we are interested in helping that cause through equine assisted therapy, team building, and coaching.

Vision for the Future

The long term goal is to build an amazing customer base that loves gaming and provide a way for people to buy their games especially Magic: The Gathering while supporting the animals here at our rescue! The big picture down the road is to be able to put programs in place that help with the communities of our partners including equine assisted therapy focused on mental health issues like autism as well as PTSD. We are focused on creating a program where financial burden is removed from the equation and people from all walks of life can benefit from the programs at our sanctuary through sponsorships and general funding.

"LGS to the Rescue!"

A little bit from a lot of people goes a long way!

"LGS to the Rescue" is our most recent project! We will be looking for LGS partners all over the place to donate 2 draft or set boxes, or 1 collector booster box per Magic: the Gathering release in an effort to have a continuous stream of funding coming through and help us get built/repaired and remodeled and keep increasing the impact that we have on the animal rescue community. Once we take care of the hurdles here at home we plan to help other communities from the support we get with other projects like affordable spay/neuter programs, as well as helping other organizations get started in the communities that need it most!
